Travelogue- first takes you to Jiangxi - Mainland China - where a military ceremony is in progress. While traveling through one of the many quickly developing areas of China the segment ends in a small village where a visiting family is paying tribute to a their ancestor hall.
Part two takes you to Lijiang, a city in the northwest of Yunnan province- where the sunrise is waking the small tourist village built near a Buddhist monastery in the mountains. Near the monastery is a tourist village claiming to be Shangri-La. Near this village, is a local economy that sells a variety of goods that are specific to the Naxi culture and religion. The Naxi Nationality is considered an ethnic minority group in China; separate from the Han Chinese- that is the majority (around 90%) of China’s population. Part two ends in a food market that provides all ingredients and cuisines local to the area.
